Nicola Gibson

Founder & Principal Physiotherapist

Nicola graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy) in 2016. She commenced work in the public hospital setting, where she gained vast experience in all areas of physiotherapy. Through her work on the obstetric & gynaecology wards, Nicola found her passion for pelvic health. Following completion of the Curtin University Graduate Certificate - Continence & Women’s Health in 2020, Nicola went on to work as a Senior Physiotherapist at Joondalup Health Campus, seeing women during their pregnancy & postpartum journey. In this role Nicola also developed valuable skills in assessing and managing pelvic health conditions including urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain and ano-rectal dysfunction.

Since more recently having her own children, Nicola has worked in specialised pelvic health physiotherapy clinics, working with some of the most experienced pelvic health physiotherapists in Perth. At Thea Pelvic Health Physiotherapy, Nicola takes time with patients to understand how their past experiences can be influencing their current bodily symptoms. Walking alongside women & men of all ages & stages, Nicola sees the influence of effective pelvic health physiotherapy management on an individual’s physical, social and emotional health.

Outside of work, Nicola enjoys spending time with her young family, especially finding new coffee spots and playgrounds - usually by the coast. Nicola has also been embracing the challenge of returning to running postpartum, and often starts her weekend at her local Parkrun.
