Women’s Health Physiotherapy

The pelvis is a key structural area of the body and many women find it difficult to connect with this part of their body, so individual assessment and feedback can be invaluable.

Our team are highly trained and experienced in helping women understand their pelvis and identify the different structures, including the pelvic floor muscles. Management of all pelvic health problems involves an in depth assessment, we will discuss your current symptoms, medical history & the goals that you would like to achieve with physiotherapy.

Common issues we treat:

  • Bladder leakage with coughing, sneezing & exercise

  • Urinary frequency, urgency & overactive bladder

  • Constipation

  • Faecal incontinence & smearing

  • Pelvic organ prolapse

  • Pelvic pain conditions including endometriosis & adenomyosis, dyspareunia (pain with sexual intercourse), dysmenorrhoea (pain with menstruation), bladder pain syndrome.

Pregnancy & Postnatal Care

Pregnancy brings amazing changes to a woman’s body, tailored care during this time is essential. Whether you are experiencing pelvic symptoms or simply wanting to know more about your body, we look forward to supporting you during your pregnancy & postpartum journey.

Common issues we can help with:

  • Pregnancy related pain: pelvic girdle pain, pubic symphysis pain & back pain

  • Bladder and bowel issues, including incontinence

  • Antenatal & postnatal pelvic floor assessments, including assessment & management of pelvic organ prolapse.

  • Exercise guidance in pregnancy & guided return to exercise postnatally

  • Prep for birth appointments including education, positioning for labour, non-pharmacological pain relief options, education on perineal massage

  • Postnatal breastfeeding care including laser therapy for cracked or grazed nipples and therapeutic ultrasound for mastitis and blocked milk ducts

Men’s Pelvic Health

Problems with the prostate can significantly affect urine flow and increase the urge to pass urine, which may lead to bladder leakage. We support men with management of bladder symptoms associated with prostate problems.

Common issues we can help with:

  • Bladder dysfunction including urinary frequency, urgency, obstructed flow, urinary incontinence.

  • For men undergoing prostate surgery, we provide pre & post op support including education, pelvic floor muscle training, bladder function assessments and lifestyle advice.

  • Bowel issues including constipation and faecal incontinence.

Billing information

We are a private billing clinic, you do not require a referral to see us. If you have private health insurance with extras cover, you may be eligible for a rebate.

We accept Medicare Enhanced Primary Care Plans. Medicare covers $60 of the appointment fee for up to 5 x sessions per calendar year. A referral from your GP is required.

Late cancellation within 24 hours incurs a fee of 50% of your appointment cost. Failure to attend your appointment incurs a fee of 100% of your appointment cost.
